BKGC grocery stores are the last remaining retail businesses that will not see the opening of a grocery stores in the state.

In a letter to the Kauai County Council on Monday, KAUAG grocery stores said they are not planning to open a store.

In a statement, BKGS said they plan to continue their business in Kauai.

“We do not believe it is feasible for us to open any new stores in Kaua’i, given the current economic climate,” the letter reads.

“The business is not viable and has a significant cost, and the future of the business is in doubt.”

In a press release on Monday afternoon, the grocery store chain said it is disappointed with the decision.

“We are disappointed to be left out of the upcoming lottery for a Kauai store,” the statement read.

The statement added that the Kauaʻi Lottery Company “has a long history of partnering with local businesses to provide low-cost access to fresh food for residents and visitors alike.”

BKGS announced its closure last month.

The retail giant was one of several companies that lost money on a $10 million lottery.

More than 1,200 people are estimated to have won $10,000 on the lottery, according to the lottery company.

The lottery company announced the closure of BKGs grocery stores on Monday.
