A Maryland grocery store chain announced that it will close for Thanksgiving.
Walmart said the closure is “due to the high volume of merchandise and the increased risk of violence.”
The company did not say when it will reopen.
The shooting occurred in a mall in suburban Maryland’s Capital Region about an hour north of Washington, D.C. The shooter was shot dead by police.
The mall was in lockdown as authorities investigated the incident.
The Mall of America said the mall will reopen on Tuesday.
